banno, dhanno and teja in bumm-bumm-bhole-land

lilkee sees the sea for the first time – a song

This song was picturized at Korlai beach near Alibaug. We went there in search of a lighthouse, and found a fort too.

The children were pushed beyond limits, we shot the song in 1 day.

It was hot, lots of climbing up and down, rocks, fort, lighthouse, hill.

The grass was itchy,

Dhanno got a broken lollipop and she sulked,

the gentle Saloni flung a shoe at the world,

Dhanno wanted to pee in the middle of the sea,

a Shiv Sena goon interrupted us at magic hour, and broke up the shoot until he was paid. The children continued shooting, and delivered in single takes, while my brother Rolu took the goon aside.

The lyrics are mine, except the last four lines about the lion, Golu, the monkey and the cat, which Teja and Dhanno wrote down on a paper napkin in a restaurant.

I am dying to see this, Banno. (Dhanno looks so young! does she cringe when she sees it now?):)
